Chevrolet ( SHEV-rə-LAY), colloquially referred to as Chevy and formally the Chevrolet Division of General Motors Company, is an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM). Louis Chevrolet and ousted General Motors founder William C. Durant started the company on November 3, 1911 as the Chevrolet Motor Car Company. Durant used the Chevrolet Motor Car Company to acquire a controlling stake in General Motors with a reverse merger occurring on May 2, 1918, and propelled himself back to the GM presidency. After Durant's second ousting in 1919, Alfred Sloan, with his maxim "a car for every purse and purpose", would pick the Chevrolet brand to become the volume leader in the General Motors family, selling mainstream vehicles to compete with Henry Ford's Model T in 1919 and overtaking Ford as the best-selling car in the United States by 1929.

Melissa shared her experience, "I've owned two Chevrolet Malibu sedans and I will never go back to them. The only pro to them was limited blind spots. I had frequent repairs on both. I drowned one by driving through a small puddle and hydro locking the engine. I'll never buy another Chevrolet."

"Do not buy a second hand Chevrolet in the UK. I had to get rid of my Aveo that was only 7 years old as I could not get a new exhaust. They are supposed to continue supplying parts to the UK market even though they no longer sell new cars here. But they don’t care. Having sent multiple emails to the company no one has even bothered to respond. Lazy and inconsiderate. Do not consider buying a used Chevrolet as you are unlikely to be able to complete any standard wear and tear repairs."

"I LOVE my 2013 Sonic Hatchback. I call it my lil go-cart. It's wicked fun to drive. I swear the seats were custom made for my butt. It's more comfortable than the other 10 or so cars I tried before I bought it. I can't understand how they can keep the cheap Spark and discontinue this GEM!!! In the Spark, I could hear every pebble hitting the undercarriage, and the interior was wicked cheap. It wasn't nearly as comfortable as the Sonic. Big, BIG mistake Chevy!!! BUT... I HATE CHEVY MARKETING!!! I've tried for the last 7 years to get off their mail list and they ignore EVERY Request!!! I've already stopped using their service dept. I am SO SICK of getting their "Certified Service" mailings and they won't stop. I've tried opting out by calling GMC, The Dealer and using the gmcontactpreferences dot com, but these arrogant jerks have ignored my requests for 7 YEARS!!! What a waste of paper. I am sure I scared the crap out of the last person to answer when I called AGAIN to get off the mailing list. I miss AWD, and won't miss the marketing, so I'm selling a car I love, and switching to Honda!"

"We own a 2011 Chevrolet Spark The clutch pedal has snapped which I believe is a manufacturing defect and is subject of a recall. There is also another recall for I believe bonnet (hood) catch corrosion. I am trying to find a garage to help with these problems. I have tried twice to contact the telephone number given on the Chevrolet UK website; The first call to a man called Mohammed took my details and said I would receive an email in 2-3 days. I received no such email so today called again speaking to a man called Faisel, he informed me there was no record of my earlier call,took my details again gave me a case number, and gave me details of a local garage for recalls/warranty work I contacted this garage only to be told they are not a warranty garage. This is an unacceptable level of customer service from major vehicle manufacturer. If this is how Chevrolet/GM treats it's customers then my advice to all is to buy elsewhere Update been over a week now, still no email/reply from either telephone help line or the email enquiry I posted."

"My 98 year old Aunt owns a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. She is now under my care. The vehicle has issues even though there is only 23k miles on it. First problem is the broken window switch. The window can not be rolled down consistently and smokes when rain gets on the inside door handle. Second, car does not respond to fob in cold weather. Third, air conditioner does not work when turned to high. I saw that there was a safety recall for the window switch. I took it to the dealer. They stated that my vin number was not included. I messaged the manufacture and somebody named Jessie would not even give me the contact number of any corporate manger for me to talk to. Needless to say I am nowhere near happy with Chevrolet, nor Puente Hills Chevrolet dealership. I own two GM cars and a Lexus. Lexus is incredible. The customer service is absolutely amazing and they bend over backwards to help you. NOT CHEVY, they are the exact opposite. From this point on I personally will never purchase, nor allow anybody in my family or circle of friends to purchase any GM vehicle ever again. I will now have to locate some non dealer mechanic to help me with these issues on this vehicle. Chevy you lost a customer over a cheap part that would have cost you relatively nothing. Update: 04-27-2020 Jim Ryan of Puente Hills Chevrolet. Took care of my Aunt's vehicle. I am giving the dealership a 5 star for stepping up but I still give Chevrolet corporation a 1 star rating. I think the manufacturer should have taken care of this issue and not let it fall completely on the dealership. Thumbs up Puente Hills Chevrolet, and a double thumbs down for the Chevrolet manufacturer. Since this review is of the manufacturer it will remain a 1 star."

"I contacted chevrolet on behalf of my fiancé after a very serious matter. Luckily we were driving slowly through the town of March when the clutch pedal snapped right off and we had to call the AA 2 very kind pedestrians helped to push the car to the side of the road. When the AA arrived he was able to get the car to PTmotors and Pete the owner was very helpful and found out that this car had been recalled because of this problem, but when I phoned Chevrolet they told me that the registration number didn't exist how can that be when it is registered with the AA"
